The Wingohocking Sewer outfall is the largest single pipe in the entire Philadelphia sewer system, fitting for a creek that had “two branches and numerous smaller tributaries that totaled 21 miles of surface streams” and which took more than half a century, from the late 1870s to 1928, to finally be encapsulated.
