Repurposing Old Infrastructure: Water History Video 5
A short look at how Philadelphia has refashioned old, obsolete infrastructure into something fresh and new and useful. This is one of six short videos about various aspects of PWD history produced in 2020 by Tolsma Productions.
Included in the video are:
- the former High Pressure Fire Service Station No. 1, at Delaware and Race Streets, now the FringeArts headquarters;
- the former East Park Reservoir, now the Discovery Center, home to Audubon and Outward Bound;
- the former Upper Roxborough Reservoir, now the Upper Roxborough Reservoir Preserve, part of Fairmount Park;
- and the Fairmount Water Works, repurposed as a watershed education center by the Philadelphia Water Department.
