This copy of the 1796 Hills Map of Philadelphia was annotated by Frederic Graff, chief engineer of the Fairmount Water Works, probably about 1812-15, to show the water pipes of the city (shown in brown) and their connection to the Fairmount Water Works and its reservoirs. You can find an unaltered copy of the map at the Library of Congress.
