Mother Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church

Founded in 1794, Mother Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church is the oldest A.M.E. church in the United States. The congregation's current church building, on S. 6th St., was completed in 1890 and is a U.S. National Historic Landmark.
