Penn landing at Chester (Watson’s Annals)

William Penn landing at Chester, PA on either October 28 or 29, 1682. The ambiguity stems from the fact that Penn landed prior to the adoption of the Gregorian calendar, which is the one in use today. There is a small stone memorial on the banks of the Delaware at Chester commemorating the event.
