Perkiomen Water Supply Surveys, 1866
Due to the pollution of both the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers, Water Department Chief Engineer Henry P. M. Birkinbine surveyed cleaner water sources outside the city, including Perkiomen Creek in Montgomery County.
