Bank of the United States, in Third Street, Philadelphia

The Bank of the United States was the replacement for the Bank of North America after the earlier bank was reincorporated by Pennsylvania, which meant that it was no longer suitable for use as a federal bank. Chartered for twenty years, the bank was purchased by Stephen Girard in 1811.
